Areas

The coast, town by town.

Each village between Mazunte and Huatulco has its own rhythm, its own light, and its own truth. Here's ours — written by people who live here, not by a brochure.

Mazunte

Oaxaca · Pacific — 15.6676°N 96.5537°W

Two hundred people, a turtle sanctuary, and the beach that quietly ended the sea-turtle trade. Sunset drinks at Punta Cometa. The town we call home.

Zipolite

Oaxaca · Pacific — 15.6642°N 96.5197°W

Mexico's only legal nude beach, and the last truly bohemian town on the coast. Yoga at dawn, fire shows at night, twenty years behind everywhere else.

San Agustinillo

Oaxaca · Pacific — 15.6661°N 96.5446°W

A fishing village between Mazunte and Zipolite that still smells like the sea it works. Small, sleepy, and the closest thing to a secret left on this coast.

Salchi

Oaxaca · Pacific — 15.6898°N 96.3483°W

A wild beach a few kilometres north — no palapas, no vendors, just dunes and surf. Land here is for people who want the coast the way it was.

Santa Elena

Oaxaca · Inland Hills — 15.7569°N 96.8228°W

Fifteen minutes from the beach, up into the hills where the air cools and the jungle thickens. Jungle lots with ocean glimpses, for off-grid dreams.

Puerto Escondido

Oaxaca · Airport City — 15.8693°N 97.0726°W

The practical anchor: international airport, hospitals, banks, and Zicatela's surf. Where the slow coast meets the world — and the easiest place to fly into.

Huatulco

Oaxaca · Bays — 15.8313°N 96.3198°W

Thirty-six bays, a second airport, and the coast's most developed — yet still unhurried — resort town. A different flavour, minutes from the wild bits.

Getting Here

Fly into Puerto Escondido.

Direct flights from Mexico City and a growing list of US cities land at Puerto Escondido (PXM); Huatulco (HUX) is the second option. From either, Mazunte is 45 minutes to an hour by car along the coast road. We'll point you to a driver we trust.
